Design and Ordering
The design, quotation and ordering process

From the initial enquiry we will either:

  • Quote from drawings or from a sample
  • If no drawings, a site visit to discuss a design and measure, then quote
  • If no drawings, quote for design and drawings, get your approval of the design, then quote

Design. During the design process we will advise on any regulatory requirements and on the installation. Structural calculations may also be required, for structures such as mezzanine floors where large numbers of personnel will be required to work, or to show "side loadings" on balustrades. Structural engineers are engaged for this work. Our process includes estimates for third party products and services required to manufacture the product, and the services required to install the product. We may engage a sub-contractor for the drawings with design and dimensions supplied by Edgar Fabrication. We may issue a quotation for the production of the design separately from the quotation for manufacture.

Quotation. We will issue a quotation for the manufacture and installation to the agreed design.

Order. When happy to proceed with the agreed price and terms, an estimated installation date is agreed in conjunction with other contractors if necessary.

We then manufacture the product to the agreed specification. Our project management process ensures that sub-contracted work is within the project timescale and budget.

Method statements are provided for the installation process, complete with a risk assessment. Once the method statement is approved, the installation  schedule is then agreed. Some jobs will require a pre-fit prior to finishing to remove the risk of damage to the finishing if adjustment is required. This will be explained to you.

Our aim is to design a product with you to meet your requirements
